Blog 2: Clocks

Last week we began to create our clocks.

Our first step was to draw a sketch of the pendulums that we will use. After drawing, we were introduced to the designing program Autocad.exe. Such a wonderful program; Autocad allows you to create blueprints. I spent the first two nights working on this program, having fun as I imputed commands into the program to design my pendulum.

Another program I found love into working on is Working Model.exe. It is a program that allows you to test machine schematics that are drawn into the interface. I found myself, on my cluster's spare time, to build a sequence of triggers and projectiles on working model. Onto serious matters; I imputed the pendulum and the escapement wheel into Working Model once I finished, and tested it out. Of course, since it is a computer program, my pendulum wasn't working properly. When I came to build my pendulum, It worked perfectly. In short, do not rely on computers too much. Next post, I will put a picture of my pendulum up. Until next time, ta ta for now.
